A delicious recipe to spice up baked French Toast :) A perfect recipe for a fall or winter Sunday Brunch
  • 2c Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½c Dulce De Leche
  • ½c Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 large Gala Apple
  • 3 tbsp Melted butter
  • 4 inch Cubes of Challah Bread
  • 8x8 or 2 QT Glass Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350F
  2. Cut the Challah Bread (I found mine at Trader Joe's) into about 4 inch cubes and put them in your glass Pan and set aside. Wash your apple and cut into thin slices and set aside.
  3. In a blender, pour in the milk and add the eggs, sugar, vanilla and butter and blend for about 30 seconds on medium/medium high. Add the Dulce de Leche and pulse for about 20 seconds
  4. Slowly pour liquid over all the bread and with a spoon, coat any dry pieces with liquid. If the pan isn't too full, with a spatula carefully fold the bread so they soak up all of the liquid. You want there to be about 1 inch of liquid at the bottom of the pan (the bread will absorb this during cooking). Toss any remaining liquid. Place the apples in between the pieces of bread and some on top.
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes (may take a minute or too longer or less depending on your oven and location). It will be ready when there is no liquid at the bottom.
  6. Serve with a drizzle of Dulce de Leche on top and a side of bacon and coffee... mmmm :)
